Happiness-A mere kite Flying..!

When I was a babe of merely one…I would laugh when somebody smiled, giggle when my dad tickled me. I would cry when  my mum didn't feed me, or if someday tried snatching away the stuff I so wanted. Happiness didn't mean more than the company of a few 'so wanted' people around. When I stepped into my school and befriended a few humans like me  ,the dimensions of the cubicle of happiness expanded. From a mere lust for a similar school bag as my classmates carried, I wanted my parents to drop me to my class, daily in the similar fashion ,as that of the other girl's did. Slowly and gradually, my definition of happiness  hopped from owning a specific model of a car to submerging into a complete beau monde lifestyle. And little  was I aware, that the more I allowed the materialistic wolf inside, shallower  did my  thoughts get towards the real happiness ,which rested nowhere, but inside.

The little things which we take for granted , or fail to notice, because of our long -fed habit of ignorance, are the real bundles of joy. This morning, while returning from a walk, I came across this child, who had barely completed the two years of life. Dust fed, shabby haired, barely clothed yet fortunate enough  to have all the reasons to smile, as he waived his kite, while posing for this picture.:) Happier, though a little shy, he stood  while his eyes gazed the kite meandering through the sky.

Unspoken..!

It was  long time ago, when God freaked out of his life, and was forced into a crucible of creating the so-called universe. He created the Earth and the Heaven. To differentiate the darkness from the illuminated version of his creation, he gave birth to the Sun. The days turned into months and months into years, and he metamorphosed into a young boy from an infant. One fine day, after fishing for long in an autumn eve, he had a glimpse of a maiden who silently seemed to ogle at him. Their eyes met for a while, just to shy away and  never to meet again. The sun grew weary and began to disappear as Astraeus, the goddess of night plunged into the sky with all her guards and constellation of stars. The maiden was shy enough to not to reveal the infatuation she felt, so she disappeared into the clouds nearby. The sun seemed to be lost in a never -ending introspection, while it kissed the mountains and finally drove his chariot to the luxurious palace of Helios, his father.

The stars had witnessed all the chemistry between the two,  watched the duo silently with the wish-fullness, hoping that one fine  day they would get close enough, so the lass wouldn’t  feel  lonely.

Lying in his couch and lost in his thoughts, the Sun revisited the sky in his mind, and there he was close to the colleen,as close as would keep her fine. Her face somewhat luminous had a pale tone to it. The eyes had a piercingly sharp shade of blue. The brows were arched over  the curve before dispersing into the bridge of her dainty nose.Plum, the lips had the strangest curl to them. The enchanting face was framed wavy. There was something and unreal and eerie about her. Overall ,she was truly an unearthly beauty. Rare to be found, impossible to be forgotten.

While the moon was quietly sleeping in the hours of night, as over the white silent slabs of a country churchyard ,Aurora the Goddess of love roared and marked her attendance in the sky. Hearing the wild chase, the Sun ,was shaken out  of his dream and was out with his chariot to rekindle the dark blue sky. No matter how tired he was, or how jarred by jerking of the chariot, he managed to reach every corner of the earth .Looking for the sheila he had dreamt of last night, his chariot navigated from east to west, and as he was about to call it a day, his eyes had a glimpse of the same eyes which were caught leering  at him, the very previous night. And yes..Yes he was taken aback. Breathless..!! His heart skipped the beat. Spellbound  he was, when some  sort of magnetic effect tied her eyes to his and none of them wished to break the effect.

While not star-studded, it was at least star speckled, the sky itself wished the two to get close enough, so as to mingle into one. The whole universe witnessed the chemistry between the two, their eyes being hypnotized by each other’s. While the two were busy exchanging the looks, a gash of wind blotted out the clouds dissipating them; leaving the Moon exposed to her beloved. Finding herself helpless, she tried to sweep back behind  a chunk of wool like cloud, where her waist was caught by the hands she had dreamt of  a millions of times, but had never known the touch of.  An electric shrill ran down her spine, while the Sun softly whispered into her ear ” Would you be mine?”
